ACH Payments in EDI 820 Format
CSX processes payment details in several ways to provide the most efficient and effective means of keeping your account details up to date. CSX prefers ACH payments in EDI 820 format, transmitted via the banks, containing both the payment amount and a full detailed description of the invoices being paid. For those customers that cannot provide full payment details along with an ACH payment, or for those that pay via check or wire transfer, you now can send the electronic detailed description of the invoices being paid directly to CSX for processing via an email attachment (.txt or .csv formats) or in a computer to computer exchange via a FTP process.

We have developed a new process where we will match the electronic detail provided by you and the payment detail provided by the bank before we process the deposit. This new process eliminates delays once seen with lockbox processing and provides the fastest means of providing you with verification that invoices have been paid and closed within the CSX systems. If you would like to review the CSX EDI 820 formats that we accept, they can be found at CSX EDI 820. If you would like to learn more about CSX's automated payment processing please contact us at [email protected].

In November, ShipCSX track & trace tools will have a new look and will be combined into one tool named Shipment Management Suite. The new navigation within the suite will make it easier to access and switch between ShipCSX trace tools. Look for more communication on the new Shipment Management Suite in the next few weeks!

ShipCSX Account Invoices Updates
Based on your feedback, we have made the next set of 2009 upgrades and enhancements to ShipCSX Account Invoices made available October 1. The additional functionality will make it easier for you to manage and review your invoices.

These new features include:
  • Print and download functionality on the dispute confirmation page when disputing car dates
  • Invoice Number is a hyperlink to the PDF throughout the entire tool
  • Hyperlink to the contact information throughout the entire tool on submitted disputes and payments
  • When there is a scheduled payment, the column on the Invoice Details page now reads 'Pending Payment' instead of 'Scheduled' for better understanding
  • When you select "Dispute Car Dates" from the "Invoice Details" page and enter your new Notified, Ordered, Placed, Released and/or Pulled car dates, you will receive a confirmation page you are able to print/download for your records. These dates will enter the CSX system for further research

Look for more enhancements throughout 2009.
